Shreveport, Louisiana: Father Kills Eight Children in Nation's Deadliest Mass Shooting Since 2024

Shamar Elkins, 31, killed eight children ages 3 to 11, including seven of his own, in Shreveport, Louisiana on April 19. Elkins was fatally shot by police following a carjacking attempt. No terrorism nexus; the attack is being investigated as domestic violence. It is the deadliest mass shooting in the United States since January 2024.
