A gunman killed two toddler sisters and a 42-year-old man at a southwest Fort Worth fireworks gathering on July 4; a suspect faces capital murder charges.

Six people were shot dead at a mother-child welfare center in Stade, Germany on June 29 by a man who had a custody appointment at the facility that same morning.

On June 23, Bradley Scott Sayer, 18, killed two patrons at the Chico, California public library after scouting the venue in advance and arriving in a Columbine reference shirt; he was arrested within four minutes.

Shamar Elkins, 31, killed eight children ages 3 to 11, including seven of his own, in Shreveport, Louisiana on April 19. Elkins was fatally shot by police following a carjacking attempt. No terrorism nexus; the attack is being investigated as domestic violence. It is the deadliest mass shooting in the United States since January 2024.
